Position Overview

Autodesk's Entertainment & Media Solutions (EMS) team is on a mission to enable anyone, anywhere, to create incredible digital entertainment. Our tools empower studios and artists worldwide to bring to life the captivating creatures, immersive worlds, and compelling characters seen in the games, shows, and movies we enjoy every day. As we drive the transformation of the Media & Entertainment industry to the cloud, we are seeking a skilled Technical Program Leader to help us excel in program execution, a key component of our plans.

We are currently looking for a Senior Manager of Technical Program Management to join our EMS team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering for Media & Entertainment, you will lead and develop a team of Scrum Masters and Technical Program Managers. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the implementation of our Flow platform across product management, engineering, and UX design teams. As the leader of this new organization, you will also optimize our overall execution to deliver value more efficiently to our customers. Additionally, you and your team will collaborate across EMS to formulate and successfully deliver technical solutions. You will be accountable for the complex delivery of technical programs and initiatives, including planning, execution, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and lead a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) and Scrum Masters responsible for managing key aspects of technical solutions, strategic planning, dependencies, and relationships
  • Develop and execute plans to address current program delivery gaps
  • Create an engagement model for Scrum Masters and TPMs across programs and establish best practices in collaboration with other TPM organizations within Autodesk
  • Ensure alignment across domain initiatives through effective planning, dependency management, and impediment removal
  • Demonstrate expert understanding and application of outcome-driven value by continuously refining guidance and processes to facilitate team discussions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including executive teams, software architects, and product management, to shape strategy and requirements for program initiatives
  • Act as the go-to person for complex program initiatives within the EMS team and other Autodesk teams
  • Engage with senior management to communicate initiative updates, risks, and accomplishments
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership, product owners, scrum masters, and other teams to create a cohesive delivery plan
  • Monitor the progress of the plan, gather insights, make recommendations, and provide frequent progress updates to stakeholders
  • Optimize the delivery process and improve team satisfaction
  • Lead the automation of the delivery process across design, development, and operations to enhance transparency and establish a single source of truth
  • Champion continuous improvement by leveraging our Kaizen culture and leading retrospectives and "lessons learned" sessions during the value delivery process, with a particular focus on automation

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience driving the delivery of highly technical and complex technology programs
  • 7+ years of experience managing performing technical teams. Experience leading teams through transformations
  • Strong technical background, detail-oriented, and excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in managing multiple concurrent programs, projects, and development teams in an Agile environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineers, product owners, scrum masters, product managers, experience designers, and executives
  • Outstanding relationship-building and influencing skills
  • Ability to leverage technical tools to scale programs and solutions
  • Proficiency in articulating business outcomes with clear measurement and validation of progress
  • Good understanding of cloud-based technology and distributed computing systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a business or technology discipline or a related field
  • Solid knowledge of system design and data analytics
  • Experience with and understanding of best practices in delivering cloud products and platforms
  • 5+ years of experience in driving program delivery in an Agile environment
